Brynner, best known for portraying the King of Siam in the iconic musical, `The King and I,` was a circus acrobat as a youth and in addition to his many acting roles was a director as well. He was born in Vladivostok Russia and was married 4 times. A prodigious smoker, he died from lung cancer in New York City, on October 10, 1985 at the age of 65.
