Young Kavadi Dancers (Hindu) move through the streets of Kandy during the Day Perahera in Sri Lanka. Although the perahera is a Buddhist festival Hindu performers are also allowed to participate. The Esala Perahera is held to honour the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha enshrined within the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
