ID 261290725 © Info937657 | Megapixl.com

A long-lived turtle native to the Amazon rivers, only the males and juvenile females have yellow head markings. These turtles spend time basking along the riverbanks and in the calm waters of big rivers and streams. They avoid fast-moving waters. They are found in tributaries and large lakes, naturally calm waters. During flood season, they may venture into flooded forests or floodplain lakes.
