One of Israel`s most famous singers, Yaffa Yarkoni takes in a performance at Annual Karmiel International Dance Festival in Israel's Galilee region and waves to a fan on July 13, 1995. Dubbed the `songstress of the wars,` Yarkoni could always be counted on to sing for the troops during times of war. Awarded the Israel Prize in 1998, she died in Tel Aviv, Israel on January 1, 2012, at the age 0f 86.
