On January 27, 2019, the temperature of Tarim Basin in Xinjiang rose to zero Celsius for the first time. After the freezing period, the Tarim River, the longest inland river in China, began to thaw, and the river ice began to creak and crack from time to time, germinating the Taklimakan Desert Spring.
