WRX700 system Also for on-board weather detection, but a modern-day system: it was created for the recent Airbus A310. It operates in X band, at 9345 MHz, and is composed of a Receiver-Emitter, Indicator, Antenna and Control Panel. The system generates, emits and receives the wave after reflection to calculate the distance to the obstacle (such as a cloud or even ice). The Antenna is installed on the nose of the aircraft (inside the radome) and constantly scans (right-left/upper-bottom) to detect potentially dangero clouds and possible turbulence on board.
