Wray Castle is a Victorian neo-gothic building built in 1840.It was constructed for Dr James Dawson, a retired Liverpool surgeon, and is now owned by the National Trust. Beatrix Potter lived here when she was 16 when her parents rented the castle. The castle overlooks Windermere.
