This is a Winter picture of the World’s Largest Catsup Bottle located in Collinsville, Illinois in St. Clair County. The catsup bottle is actually a water tower, it was created to promote the Brook’s Catsup in 1949, it was constructed byCaldwell Tanks of Louisville, Kentucky. The 70 foot tall bottle sit on top of a 100 foot stand. In the 1960’s the Brooks Company left Collinsville for an Indiana site, today he company operates in Canada. In 1993 a community group formed to save the unique water tower, the efforts culminated in the patching and repainting of he Watertower in 1995. Today it is maintained by loyal fans of the tower who hold various events to fund their efforts. The tower was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
