This is a young Boa imperator snake species, Boidae family. Common names: common boa, northern boa, Colombian boa and common northern boa. Boa imperator is wide-ranging, with animals living in both Central America and northern parts of South America. Boa imperator prefers to live in rainforests due to humidity, temperature, cover from potential predators and ample prey, so, the Maya Biosphere Reserve (RBM) in Guatemala is a perfect habitat. It is nonvenomous. Boa imperator, like most Boa species, has a varied diet that consists mainly of mammals, birds and lizards. Observed at Cerro Cahuà Protected Biotope, Petén, northern Guatemala.
