White Cogongarass (scientific name: Imperata cyclindrica (L.) P. Beauv.) It is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Poaceae family and the genus Poaceae, named after the dense white soft hairs on its flower spikes. It is also known as Maomao because its leaves are like spears. It has a thick and long rhizome, an upright stem, and a height of 30-80 centimeters The leaf sheath gathers at the base of the stem, and the stem leaves are narrow linear and usually inward curled The panicle is dense and the style is slender Caryopsis oval shaped The flowering and fruiting period is from April to June.
