A mushroom, or toadstool, is the fleshy, spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus, typically produced above ground on soil or on its food source. Found at Dorothy McIlroy Bird Preserve at the headwaters for Lake Como in Cayuga County NYS. Rich shrub fen grades into peat swamp and forest on either side of the creek. A glacial kettlehole lake region. Finger Lakes Land Trust preserve FLLT.
