Wat Kaeng Khoi was built in 1787 by the villagers joining together to build it, and donated their own lands to consecrate in Buddhism. Later, the villagers called this temple "Wat Rang Khoi". The origin of this name when the era of the country has changed, the villagers became more prosper and a lot of deforestation occurred accordingly. There are only some big trees left, such as the large rubber tree along the banks of the Pa Sak River on the north side of the temple, about 4-5 trees left to be seen. When prosperity comes, the forests were dwindling due to destruction, and made animals having to move to another place of residence the vulture and the crow had come to live in the big rubber trees in the area along the banks of the Pa Sak River on the way to the rapids of the temple.
