Wanping, since ancient times is the South portal, urban construction in the late Ming Chongzhen ten years (1637), it was the Ming dynasty war period, built the city to troops guarding the capital. Ming said circumpolar city; Qing was renamed Gongbei city, was not called South Wanping County, Beijing City, near the drum tower.
