The Olteţ Keys are located along the Olteţ River on a natural area between the Căpăţâni Mountains and the Parâng Mountains belonging to the Southern Carpathians. The protected area is a karst area, quays and groves dug in Jurassic limestone by the Olteţ waters with a diverse range of flora and fauna specific to the Southern Carpathians. Olteţ`s picturesque cliffs, with a very narrow opening and vertical walls, about 350 meters tall, formed in a karst fracture area.
