The lace curtain machine, invented by John Livesey in Nottingham in 1846 was another adaptation of John Heathcoat`s bobbinet machine. It made the miles of curtaining which screened Victorian and later windows. Warp beam, bobbin, carriage, jacquard strings, facing bar, guides, catch bar, rocking bar, lingoe, comb, nipping bar, spools, points, interceptor, string sley, porcupine roller, work roller and thread sley. 1900s machinery / engineering reference.
