Poolewe is about 75 miles (120 km) north-west from Inverness, Scotland. It is a tiny, neat village snuggled in the sheltered haven of Loch Ewe where one of the shortest rivers in Scotland, the River Ewe, joins the sea less than 1 mile (1.6 km) from Inverewe Garden, renowned world-wide for its subtropical plants. The village is picturesquely situated surrounded by mountains and the sea. Geographically, Poolewe is in the beautiful region of Wester Ross, in the North West Highlands of Scotland.
