Prince William Sound is the best place in Alaska to observe spectacular coastal scenery and tidewater glaciers, best done while on a boat cruise, starting from the small town of Whittier and moving gently down the fjords. There are over 100 named glaciers in Prince William Sound and this picture is of the Holyoke Glacier, sliding down the valley between two snow covered hills into the sea.
