When thinking of Public Art, people generally think of very large paintings or tapestries on very large walls or maybe very large sculptures or mobiles. What people generally do not think of Public Art as cast bronze sculptures made to look like old and well used household chairs that might have been discarded. That was the whole point of sculptor Primitivo Suarez Wolfe who created these nine chairs, working with both the San Francisco Arts Commission and Transportation Authority to have these chairs placed in the very busy transit hub of the Duboce Triangle neighborhood. As a side note, most of these chairs are right along the 400 block of Duboce, which is the largest wood structor building West of the Mississippi. Although all nine of these chairs are totally unique, they are all bronze, so even if it looks like a soft cushy leather, first be careful when sitting down. As enjoyed 2 May 2018.
