Pictured is the carrera marble statue of Venus and Mars by Luigi Acquisti in the Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo on Lake Como. Acquisti was born in 1747 and died in 1823. He completed the sculpture in 1805. The Villa Carlotta has been entrusted to the care of the Ente Villa Carlotta charitable foundation by royal decree since May 12th, 1927.
