The clotheslines are strung up in an alleyway of Venice, with an arc in the front above them. The colours of the laundry hanging out to dry is bright against the brick walls and cobblestone flooring. The air is heavy with humidity, making the clothes feel damp to the touch. The clothes themselves range from plain white shirts to vibrant dresses and patterned towels. All of them have been hung out to dry by their owners, who live in the apartments above the alleyway. The sun is already setting, painting the sky a deep red hue. But there`s still enough light left to see all of the different colours and patterns on display. There`s a feeling of peace and simplicity here as if time has stood still.
