A cloud is a visible hydrometeor formed by the accumulation of ice crystals and/or microscopic water droplets suspended in the atmosphere, as a consequence of the condensation of water vapor. Generally white in color, it can darken as its optical thickness increases, until it becomes a dark gray almost black.
