Pictured is the upper half of the monumental peak entrance gate to the Strahov Monastery, founded in 1140 by Prince Vladislav II. It is the oldest Premonstratensian Order monastery in Bohemia. The entrance gate is the work of A.M. Lurago from 1742. A statue of Saint Norbert by Jana Antonin Quittainer is seen in the center, flanked by other statues. Saint Norbert of Xanten was a bishop of the Catholic Church, founder of the Premonstratensian order of canons regular, and is venerated as a Saint.
