Pictured are two bald eagles, binomial name Haliaeetus leucocephalus, perched in a tree at the edge of Chokoloskee Bay in Florida. The bald eagle feeds mainly on fish and builds the largest nest of any North American bird and the largest tree nests ever recorded for any animal species. Chokoloskee Bay is roughly 10 miles long and 2 miles wide and is located along Florida's Gulf Coast. It is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by the Ten Thousand Islands.
