Pictured is a tricolored heron hunting in a shallow water pool along the shoreline of Chokoloskee Bay in Florida. The binomial name is Egretta tricolor. The diet of tricolored herons in Florida is nearly 100 percent fish and prawns. Chokoloskee Bay is roughly 10 miles long and 2 miles wide. It is located along the Gulf Coast of Florida and is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by the Ten Thousand Islands.
