Koster Maria Engelport (former called porta angelica) is located in a side valley of the Mosel on the Hunsrück side called Flaumbachtal. The monastery dates back to 13th century and was started from Kloster Kumbd. After the destruction in 15th century it was rebuilt in 17th century and again in 19th century. This monastery played a role in the spreading of religion through German colonies in Africa.
