At 42 meters high, the equivalent of a 13-story building, the trunk is 11.9 meters in circumference. To embrace it, at least nine adults are needed – the largest jequitibá-rosa in the State of São Paulo. He is affectionately known as the `Patriarch`. Studies carried out by agronomists and biologists have determined that the tree has been at the site for over 600 years. The species can be found in the southeastern, central-western and northeastern parts of the country. It is one of the largest trees in the Atlantic Forest and needs a lot of light and water to develop, in addition to fertile land. The soil has to be very deep, as the roots can reach 15 meters.
