Pastéis de Bacalhau or codfish cakes are a popular appetizer at many snack-bars and restaurants here in Portugal. Codfish cakes are a good introduction to bacalhau, a traditional type of fish, rumoured to have over a hundred different recipes.A place made for a walk among colorful Portuguese houses with red roofs. Colorful tiles, white houses, shops, restaurants and the typical yellow tram number 28. You can take it through the narrow streets of Lisbon. There are also many sights, such as the famous Sé Cathedral Sé de Lisboa and you can take the tram up to Castelo de São Jorge. You can see it from almost everywhere in Lisbon and it is one of the most famous symbols of the city. From the top you will have a breathtaking view of the whole of Lisbon. Alfama has a unique atmosphere and the best way to experience it is to get lost in the steep streets of one of the oldest parts of Lisbon.
