The old tower named "Tower Saint-FranÃ§ois in the old quarter of the City of Nice (French riviera). Saint Francis tower gave the name to the street that runs along the boulevard to the Jean JaurÃ¨s. It was built in 1722 to give a Franciscan monastery bell tower , now largely destroyed . The monastery abandoned during the Revolution, was sold at auction in 1798 to the municipality. The bell tower was modified in 1841 and receives the clock.
