This grey pottery ding-tripod is a type of ritual vessel that was used for cooking or storing food. It was excavated from Tomb No. 1 at Wangshan, Jiangling, in 1965. The vessel is dated to the Warring States period (475-221 BC), which was a time of great political and cultural upheaval in China.
