The Kumbum at the Palcho Monastery in the town of Gyantse in Tibet. It was founded in the year 1427. It has nine lhakangs or levels, is 35 metres (115 ft) and contains 77 chapels which line its walls. The Kumbum chorten at Gyantse is a three dimensional mandala, meant to portray the Buddhist cosmos.
