The Alexandrine Parakeet or Alexandrine Parrot, Psittacula eupatria, is a very large, colorful and loud bird. It looks very similar to the Rose-ringed Parakeet, but it is larger, has red shoulder patches, and has a larger bill. It is also often kept as a pet. They are native to India, but have escaped captivity and established feral colonies in Europe, the Middle East and the USA.
