Thick Tower Sibiu (German Dicker Turm) is a tower built in the sixteenth century in the city of Sibiu, which was part of the fortifications later incorporated belt defense of the city. It is located on City and Coposu Boulevard (formerly Avenue 23 August from the communist period). The building of the tower was installed in 1788 the first theater of the city, founded by typographer Martin Hochmeister. Here were organized theatrical performances until 1949, when the hall was damaged by fire. After the repair work on the tower platform was arranged club Independence plant. Since 2004, here is Thalia State Philharmonic of Sibiu.
