Orb web spider is a group of arachnids that build circular webs to catch their prey. They have eight eyes, four pairs of legs, and a pair of fangs that inject venom into their victims. Orb web spiders can vary in size, color, and shape, but they all share the same basic web-building technique. They start by spinning a frame of silk threads between two or more anchor points, such as branches or leaves. Then they fill in the frame with a spiral of sticky threads that radiate from the center. The sticky threads act as a trap for flying insects, such as flies, bees, and moths. When an insect hits the web, the spider senses the vibration and rushes to subdue it. Some orb web spiders also wrap their prey in silk before eating it or storing it for later.
