The Ankole-Watusi may be a number of different colours, but is usually reddish brown. The horns are unusually large, with a wide spread and the largest circumference found in any cattle breed. Guinness World Records lists a bull named Woodie with a horn circumference of 103.5 cm (40.7 in) The Watusi is a modern American breed of domestic cattle. It derives from the Ankole group of Sanga cattle breeds of east and central Africa. The cattle were initially exported from East Africa to Europe during the early 1900s. United States zoos and individual breeders then imported Ankole-Watusi cattle from Europe during the 1920s-1930s.
