The Waterloo Helmet (also known as the Waterloo Bridge Helmet) is a bronze ceremonial Celtic helmet from pre-Roman Britain (circa 150-50 BC) found in 1868 in the Thames near Bridge (London) and today the British Museum in London. It consists of two bronze sheets riveted together to which two conical ornaments are added, also in bronze, and provided with upper buttons. The cap is decorated with late Lathenian repoussé motifs. The shape, for the Iron Age, is currently unique in Europe. It is however possible, even if the two are not identical, to bring it closer to the horned helmet depicted on the Gundestrup Cauldron. Due to the place of its discovery and the data of its manufacture it can be attributed to the Cantiaci people to whom, according to Claudius Ptolemy, the city of Londinium belonged.Isolated image.
