On November 11, 1906, the official opening of the Arad-Podgoria Railway with benzo-electric traction takes place at the private initiative of some businessmen in order to capitalize on the economic needs of the Weinberg area, the vineyard of Arad. The railway provides a transport connection between the localities located in the area between the localities of Radna and Pancota, with a branching center in the locality of Ghioroc, towards the municipality of Arad, with the aim of helping the farmers of Arad's Podgoria to take their goods to the city more easily. Today the station serves suburban passenger transport only from Ghioroc to the city of Arad. A tram is a type of urban rail transit consisting of a rail vehicle, either individual railcars or self-propelled trains coupled by a multiple unit, that runs on tramway tracks on urban public streets some include segments on segregated right-of-way. The tramlines or networks operated as public transport are called tramways or simply trams streetcars. Many recently built tramways use the contemporary term light rail.Tram vehicles are usually lighter and shorter than main line and rapid transit trains. Today, most trams use electrical power, usually fed by a pantograph sliding on an overhead line.
