The Gaslamp Quarter extends from Broadway to Harbor Drive, and from 4th to 6th Avenue, covering 16½ blocks including 94 historic buildings constructed in the Victorian Era. The development of a Gaslamp Quarter began in 1860’s to create a new city center closer to the bay and concentrated along 5th Avenue as its main street.
