This is a Trachycephalus vermiculatus frog species, Hylidae family. It is found in Central and South America. Common name: veined tree frog or milk frog. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, moist lowland forest, dry lowland grassland, rivers, intermittent rivers and freshwater lakes. This frog produces sticky, insoluble, noxious secretions that cause severe reactions, ranging from irritation, swelling, and pain to temporary blindness if the secretions end up in the eyes or on any mucous membrane. It is called the pepper treefrog in Belize because it is thought to cause sneezing. This one seems to be meditating. Observed at Cerro Cahuí Protected Biotope, Petén department, northern Guatemala.
