The large parasol mushroom, Macrolepiota procera, is a fungus with a long stem and large hat and resembles a parasol, hence the name. It is a common species that grows in moderately moist grass areas. This mushroom is often found in groups or alone and is also often found in witch circles. All forms of the large parasol mushroom are considered edible mushrooms. Usually only the hats are used, which can be prepared in the same way as schnitzel
