The red and white Indonesian flag actually has a history behind it. The birth of the red and white flag occurred on September 7, 1944. At that time Japan promised to give independence to Indonesia. The red and white flag is in the shape of a rectangle that is 2 3 (two-thirds) wide. The top is red while the bottom is white. The philosophical meaning of the Indonesian flag is that red means brave, while white means holy. The white color symbolizes the human soul, while red represents the human body. So, red and white colors complement each other.
