The Imperial Staircase that leads from the Staircase Hall in Sledmere House, East Yorkshire. The statue of Apollo Belvedere is a 1780 copy by the English sculptor Joseph Wilton of the original that is now in the Vatican Museum. Sledmere is an 18th century Georgian house that was reduced to just a shell after a disastrous fire in 1911. The house was rebuilt between 1913-1918 with further changes taking place during the Edwardian years.
