Pictured is the historic stone dam at the Allen Water Station in the City of Allen, Texas. It was constructed in 1874 to provide necessary water for the steam locomotives as the Houston and Texas Central Railway was expanding North from Houston to Denison, Texas. This railroad reservoir dam is thought to be the only one left in the United States.
