High Line Park and the Standard Hotel in New York City. The High Line is a 1.45-mile (2.33 km) New York City park built on a section of the former elevated freight railroad spur called the West Side Line, which runs along the lower west side of Manhattan; it has been redesigned and planted as an aerial greenway. The High Line Park currently runs from Gansevoort Street, one block below West 12th Street, in the Meatpacking District, up to 20th Street, and will eventually run through the neighborhood of Chelsea to the West Side Yard, near the Javits Convention Center. The recycling of the railway into an urban park has spurred development along the line. The High Line runs under the Standard Hotel. The Standard Hotel brand is a part of Andre Balazs Properties. It is a group of four boutique hotels in Los Angeles (Hollywood and Downtown LA), Miami and New York. The Standard, New York (New York, New York) Opened in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District in 2008.
