In July 2022, during one of the driest and hottest summers on record, a devastating fire devastated the Serra do Courel, in Lugo, Galicia, for two weeks. A place of high ecological value and that is also a UNESCO Geopark. Despite the obvious devastation of more than 11,000 hectares, the green of life reappears immediately after the extinction of the forest fires. 90% of what is burned is scrubland
