The rear of the stunning 17th century gatehouse that is the entrance to the famous Stokesay Castle as seen from the South Tower. The visitors centre can be seen to the right behind the Gatehouse, while to the left is St John the Baptist Church. Stokesay Castle is one of the finest fortified medieval manor houses in England. The castle was originally built in the late 1200s by Laurence of Ludlow.
