One thing I found fascinating was that there are different Buddhas for praying for different wishes, whether it be health, wealth, good luck or to heal the sick, with Thais donating money every time they visit a temple, which is also how the Buddhist monks, of which there are many in Thailand, are supported. Often Thai people will also go to the monastery and take plates of food for the monks, given the great work the monks do to keep their communities together.
