In Sri Lanka the two kinds of guava commercially cultivated are the Bangkok Giant and a Malaysian variety, which is nameless but is nevertheless loosely referred to in the local market as kilo pera or ata pera. The flesh is white and the taste is crispy and sweet. The surrounding Tongue-Burning Chili Peppers (Nai Miris in Sinhala) which is really spicy.
