Spruce (Latin Pícea) is a genus of coniferous evergreen trees of the Pine family (Pinaceae). About 40 species of evergreen tall (under optimal growing conditions) trees (up to 96.7 m tall) with a beautiful crown, common in temperate and cold (subarctic and subalpine) regions of the Northern Hemisphere. In the lower reaches of the Yenisei and Taimyr, it even enters the southern part of the Arctic climate zone.
