Pictured is the the Church of Saint George on the central square of Varenna on Lake Como in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region of Lombardy. Varenna was founded by local fishermen in 769 AD. The imposing clock and bell tower replaced an ancient Romanesque one in 1653 and was restored in 1978.
