The Casina dell'Orologio is one of the farmhouses of Villa Borghese, located between Piazza di Siena (on the opposite side of the Casina di Raffaello) and Viale dei Cavalli Marini, along the axis that leads from the entrance of Viale Belle Arti to Via Pinciana. In ancient times the house was used by the gardener as a dwelling. Antonio Asprucci added a portico and a turret equipped with a clock. Later the bourgeois prince wanted to make it a museum with excavation material from the ancient city of Gabii that was located in one of his estates. The museum was dismantled in 1807 and the material on display there was transferred to the Louvre Museum. For years it was the headquarters of the Garden Service of the Municipality of Rome.
